![]() Or is my BIOS just reporting wrong temperatures? Perhaps switching to a Zalman fan will solve this problem? What kind of cooling are you using? I'm using the fan that came with the processor. Right now the CPU temperature is always about 48 degrees C, and under load it's 50 or even 51 degrees.ĭo you get 31 degrees when idle with your 4400+ processor? choosing 40 degrees makes the fan noisy as a tractor. My BIOS version is 1.9, and I've chosen 50 degrees as "Smart CPU Fan Temperatue". I havn't changed anything the the Core section of te BIOS. I don't want to overclock my system is fast enough as it is. But other programs do weird stuff as well SpeedFan, for example, makes my CPU fan very noisy, and I don't want to control the speed by hand - the motherboard does fine job controlling it automatically.Ībout Vcore, I'm just asking if 1.30 is the right value, because I've read somewhere in this forum that it's supposed to be 1.40 for 90nm AMD CPUs. PS: in CPU-Z the clock speed is stable at 200.9MHz x 11.Ĭan anyone explain this to me? It's really frightening, I'm afraid that the CPU will burn or something. Then I installed it again - it didn't help.Ĭool'n'Quiet is disabled in BIOS, the Power Scheme is "Always On" and as I said no overclocking is being done. I tried to uninstall the AMD driver, but the clock speed in Core Center still fluctuates! Could I have damaged something in the CPU? This is really bizzare, and even frightening. So I disabled Cool'n'Quiet, and then I notices something weird in Core Center: for some reason the clock speed alternates constantly between 200MHz to 74-45MHz to 327MHz! I wanted to try Cool'n'Quiet, but benchmarking revealed that the system's performance degraded with it enabled. (2.2GHz = 200MHz x 11)Ĭore Center worked fine until I installed AMD's Processor Drivers. I'm using an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum board with an AMD X2 4400+ CPU.
